Gabriel Salazar, a big star on social media site TikTok, is said to have died in a car crash at the age of 19. His friends have paid tribute to him online.

TikTok user Gabriel Salaza takes part in dance challenge

Friends of TikTok star Gabriel Salazar have paid tribute to him after he reportedly died in a car crash at age 19.

It’s said that the teenager died in a traffic accident in San Antonia, Texas on Sunday.

While his death has not yet been officially confirmed, his devastated friends have began leaving tributes for him online.

Gabriel had accumulated more than one million followers on TikTok under his username @gabenotbabe.

He last posted four days ago.

He regularly posted funny videos of himself and his friends, as well as clips of himself lipsyncing to songs.

Fellow social media star Ricky Flores shared his heartbreak on Instagram as he posted a string of pictures of himself and Gabriel together.

He wrote: “Rest easy brother. Words can’t even explain how I feel right now. Man, I would do anything to get you back right now bro.”

Ricky also shared a link to a GoFundMe page set up to raise money for a memorial for his late friend.

Entitled ‘Gabe’s memorial fund’, it reads: “I don’t know what’s real and not real anymore but unfortunately gabe past away on a car crash September 26 we couldn’t believe it the moment we found out. Dont really want to get into details because it’s so hard for us to even talk about the pain he went through. Never expected this happen but now you’re watching over us .

Gabriel’s friends have set up a fundraising page for a memorial

“Gabriel loved his family and was always horsing around with her sister and little brother . He was always there with a big hug and smile, and his family will never forget those warm moments. He was so funny with a quiet sense of humor and sarcasm. I cannot believe that I am sitting here writing this. How is this real life?

“Words cannot express the heartbreak our entire community is feeling from the loss of our Gabriel . Your family and friends miss you .

“We are asking for support for his family. There will be time missed from work and funeral expenses that will be too much for his family to afford. Please consider donating and help relieve at least that sorrow and strain for his parents.”

The page aims to raise $25,000 and at the time of writing, has had just under 1,000 donations totally $16,404.
