As we mark the Queen’s platinum Jubilee, KAYAK, the world’s leading travel search engine reveals the most-searched Commonwealth destinations and the cheapest times to travel this summer.
With an extra bank holiday for travel this year, it appears Britons are setting their sights on a summer holiday as they celebrate the Queen’s 70 years on the throne.
To mark the occasion, KAYAK analysed flight searches over the past month to all 54 Commonwealth countries, and found India and Pakistan are the most searched destinations, with the cheapest time to visit in September.
Cyprus and Pakistan are the cheapest destinations in the top 10 countries, followed by Canada.
It’s perhaps no surprise that all destinations are cheaper either pre or post school summer holidays, with June and September being the cheapest summer months for all commonwealth destinations.
And despite Australia still remaining closed to tourists, it’s ranked sixth in the top 10 most searched Commonwealth destinations, so one could assume Brits are hopeful restrictions will ease in time for summer.
It’s also currently the most expensive on the list, with average flight prices around £600.
