Marcus Rashford will return to action for Manchester United on Wednesday in a behind-closed-doors friendly.

The striker is yet to play a game this season after he underwent shoulder surgery in the summer but made his long-awaited comeback to full contact training on Friday.

Now, in the next stage of his recovery, Rashford will get some minutes back on the pitch under his belt with the aim of being in contention to be able to feature against Leicester City on October 16.

The match will be the third such friendly United will have played this season, having also faced Stoke and Burnley in recent behind-closed-doors encounters.

In more good news on the injury front, teenage winger Amad returned to training on Tuesday.

The Ivorian also hasn’t featured this season after picking up a thigh injury that ruined plans for him to join Feyenoord on loan.

Stay tuned for the latest news throughout the day.
