Manchester United are expected to let Amad leave on loan before the transfer window closes.
The 19-year-old joined United in a £37million transfer from Atalanta in January but has only played eight times, starting twice, and Amad elected to miss pre-season in favour of representing the Ivory Coast at the Olympics.
United have already sanctioned a season-long loan for fellow right-sided forward Facundo Pellistri to Alaves and Amad has also been lined up for a temporary move.
Amad and Pellistri agreed transfers to United on deadline day last October after the club refused to meet Borussia Dortmund’s £108million valuation of Jadon Sancho.
United completed the £72.9m signing of Sancho last month and manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has a surfeit of attacking options, despite the long-term absence of Marcus Rashford with a shoulder injury.
Rashford underwent surgery last week and is expected to be sidelined until at October, at the earliest.
Anthony Martial, Daniel James, and Mason Greenwood started in the 4-0 friendly thrashing of Everton last week and are available for the Premier League season opener at home to Leeds United.
Edinson Cavani is almost certainly out as Solskjaer gave the Uruguayan an extended break of five weeks and Jesse Lingard is a doubt after he tested positive for Covid-19 last week. Teenage forward Anthony Elanga missed the St Andrews training camp and friendly win over Everton with a minor injury and Solskjaer has suggested Sancho will be on the bench.
