A rare cassette recording of an interview with John Lennon and Yoko Ono fetched more than £40,000 when it was sold at auction in Denmark yesterday.

The tape features the unreleased song Radio Peace, and selling alongside it were photographs from the meeting. The lot’s value was estimated at up to 300,000 kroner (£35,000) but it fetched 370,000 kroner at Bruun Rasmussen, the auction house in Copenhagen.

The recording was made on January 5, 1970, by four Danish boys who had managed to get an interview with the couple for a school magazine.
