Eerie photos showing an abandoned cottage that has been left untouched for decades have been released.

Thick layers of dust and cobwebs covering trophies and children’s items were found in the forgotten home, dubbed ‘Grandma’s House’ in Wrexham, Wales, which suggests that no one has stepped inside in years.

Over the years, the wallpaper has peeled, parts of the house have rotted and the fireplace has crumbled. Reading glasses lay on the kitchen table among 1950s sweet tins and ornaments sit beside cups and saucers, reports North Wales Live.

But who lived there, and why they left all of their belongings remains a mystery to this day.

The only clue as to who the previous occupants are is the family portraits scattered within the house, some of the couple with friends and others on their wedding day.

Talking to the publication, an urban explorer, who wishes to remain anonymous said: “The house lies in a very remote location within Wrexham, surrounded by clouded mountain tops.

“As you enter the house you instantly pick up the eerie feeling within the walls, it’s like time has frozen and the occupiers that once lived in the house have just vanished off the face of the earth.

“Photos dotted around the house show an old couple who may have been the last people to live there but nothing has moved, photos are in colour and in black and white.

“I was able to access all of the rooms in the house which consists of the kitchen, dining room, front room, pantry and bathroom, as well as the bedrooms.

They added: “Accessing the house is slightly difficult and a little messy as there is no accessible road and the land is boggy and lightly flooded from the rainwater coming off the mountain tops, but once your inside the house seems structurally safe.”

“The house itself has obviously been abandoned for many years as the decay is extensive and rotted in places.

“Everything else in this home seems old and as if it’s been left for ages yet the microwave seems rather new.

“Whoever lived here collected model cars with several still on display in the kitchen area and looked quite old.

“One baffling thing was that there was no toilet in the house and there wasn’t one in the bathroom.”
