Grand Theft Auto VI was something we thought would never happen, seeing as how Rockstar are about to release GTA V on its third (!) console generation, but it has been officially announced.
It may not be coming out any time soon, but Rockstar Games have confirmed that work is indeed underway on it, it’s not just in the planning stage.
A statement reads: “With the unprecedented longevity of GTA V, we know many of you have been asking us about a new entry in the Grand Theft Auto series. With every new project we embark on, our goal is always to significantly move beyond what we have previously delivered – and we are pleased to confirm that active development for the next entry in the Grand Theft Auto series is well underway.
“We look forward to sharing more as soon as we are ready, so please stay tuned to the Rockstar Newswire for official details. On behalf of our entire team, we thank you all for your support and cannot wait to step into the future with you!”
Meanwhile, the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S versions of Grand Theft Auto V are just over a month away from releasing (March 15), giving you options for 4K, 60fps, HDR, ray-tracing, faster load times, as well as 3D audio and DualSense haptic feedback.

You’ll be able to transfer both your GTA Online stats and story mode save files over, as long as you stay within the same console family.
