Daily symptomatic Covid cases are up by 19 percent on recently, according to the current ZOE Covid Study occurrence figures.
The brand-new figures show there are currently 51,961 new day-to-day symptomatic cases of coronavirus in the UK usually, compared to 43,693 new cases last week. On average 1 in 100 people in the UK presently have symptomatic Covid.
New cases are highest in the 18 to 35-year-olds, carefully followed by the absolutely no to 18-year-olds, which suggests that its the younger populations who lag the current increases in cases.
Teacher Tim Spector, lead researcher on the ZOE Covid Study app, stated the new figures reveal that “sadly, were back in a position where cases, hospitalisations and deaths are all increasing and the UK has the highest rates of Covid in Europe, regardless of our exceptional vaccination rates.”
He said that what sets the UK apart in contrast to Europe is “our lack of restrictions”, which as children go back to school after the summer vacations there is a “great chance” that cases will continue to rise.
Prof Spector added that according to the information from the study, full immunized individuals now make up almost 30pc of favorable cases, and so it is “crucial” to be familiar with the signs of Covid even after getting jabbed, he said.
