Chrono Cross had been in the rumour mill for what felt like an eternity, so the reveal of Chrono Cross: The Radical Dreamers Edition in the most recent Nintendo Direct was very welcome indeed. It arrives on 7th April and is shaping up to be an interesting release in multiple ways, especially the inclusion of a localised version of text adventure Radical Dreamers.
There are various other nods to adjusting the game for modern times, with improvements to sound quality, character designs, models and fonts. The official account for the game covers the latter below with some comparisons – there’s an optional filter if you want improved / modern looks or alternatively you can stick to a more ‘retro’ look.
This release is certainly proving exciting for fans, even if it’s an enhanced edition as opposed to a more modern take or remake.
Will you be a filter on or off player in Chrono Cross?
